Working with Our Employees
Creating a Safe and Comfortable Workplace
We are dedicated to maintaining a safe work environment through regular inspections, repairs, and patrols to ensure safe work practices. To proactively identify and address potential hazards, we conduct risk assessments and implement rigorous safety protocols. Recognizing that some hazards may still be overlooked, we provide comprehensive "Hazard Prediction Training (KYT)" and "Hazard Simulation Training" using actual production equipment to help employees experience and understand potential dangers firsthand. Additionally, we perform ongoing safety and health patrols and engage in "Safety and Health 119 Call" activities to continuously identify and mitigate risks.
Disaster prevention training
In Japan, where natural disasters such as earthquakes are inevitable, FUKUVI is committed to minimizing their impact through a robust business continuity plan. Each year, on May 20, we observe "Disaster Prevention Day" by conducting comprehensive group-wide disaster and lifesaving drills. These exercises are designed to ensure that we can prioritize and execute life-saving actions effectively during a disaster. Our Group plants and offices are equipped with emergency food, drinking water, evacuation supplies, protective gear, and first-aid materials. Training on Disaster Prevention Day also includes proper handling of these supplies to ensure readiness in an emergency.
Lifesaving training
FUKUVI has equipped its main plants and offices with AEDs and offers training on essential lifesaving techniques, including their operation. On "Disaster Prevention Day" and at other events, employees repeatedly practice these primary lifesaving procedures to ensure they are prepared to take effective action in an emergency.
Firefighting training
FUKUVI's manufacturing process involves handling flammable materials such as plastics, heavy oil, and petroleum gas, as well as various chemicals. A fire not only endangers employees but can also significantly impact the factory and surrounding communities. To prevent such risks, we emphasize rigorous fire prevention measures. In addition to daily fire patrols, we have established an in-house fire brigade trained to manage initial fire outbreaks effectively. The firefighting team practices using small pumps and fire extinguishers and participates in local firefighting drills to continuously enhance their skills and readiness.
Human Resource Development Initiatives for Sustainable Corporate Value Creation
FUKUVI Group believes that the growth and success of our employees are fundamental to our long-term development. We are committed to fostering skill development and career autonomy, allowing each employee to reach their full potential. For those interested, we offer career support through consultations with in-house career advisors and self-assessment tools. Additionally, we focus on transferring our unique expertise by developing employees who can train others, including OJT (on-the-job training) leaders. We also encourage continuous learning through correspondence courses and support for obtaining professional qualifications.
Establishment of EAP Promotion Office
We have established an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Promotion Office dedicated to enhancing the mental and physical health of our employees. Physical Health Management: We conduct regular health checkups, including general and specialized exams, to prevent lifestyle-related diseases. We also provide health guidance for employees with identified health issues. Mental Health Management: We offer counseling and stress checks to help employees address and manage stress and personal challenges. Additionally, we support managers and supervisors in handling employee issues, facilitating smooth returns to work, and improving the overall work environment.
In-house magazine "Step by Step" and in-house recreation
With our plants and offices located across Japan and internationally, opportunities for employees to connect with each other can be limited, even within the same location due to diverse individual tasks. To foster a stronger sense of community, we regularly publish an internal magazine, "Step by Step," and organize an annual recreational event to encourage camaraderie through sports.
Health and Safety Initiatives
A safe and comfortable workplace is essential for our business operations. Given that manufacturing is central to our activities, we work with a range of equipment including machinery, product transport systems, boilers, and drying units, as well as handle various fuels and chemicals. Additionally, our sales activities involve the use of vehicles. To address these potential hazards and ensure safety, we implement both hard measures, such as safety devices and protective gear, and soft measures, including standardized safe work practices and heightened safety awareness among employees.
Our commitment to safety is guided by our Occupational Safety and Health Management program. We adopted the OHSAS 18001 standard in 2002 and received certification. Following the transition to ISO 45001 in 2018, we updated our certification to ISO 45001 in 2021, continuing our dedication to maintaining high safety standards.
